As for falsely claiming about rave reviews, what their product does, to even claiming that they will show you money making secret, it will be extremely difficult to determine.
You can type the product name into either Google or Yahoo, to look for any information about that product. But you still have to be very careful, since many of them will create different websites to sell the same product.
Searching for the person's name is different because most of these people only bother about promoting their product and not their credentials. They only bother about making profits, and that means creating more and different "not value for money" websites to sell the same product. So my advice to you is to only look for the person's name.
Because if that person really is as famous as they claim to be, than his name should appear in a few forums with good appraisals. And if that person really is famous, than there is a much lower chance that he will sell you fake products. But don't buy from that person just yet. It may not be a fake product, but it doesn't mean that he will show you money making secret, and his product might still be "not value for money"
